Principle Day is Today!!

Be sure to thank them!!

April 30, 2013

As you have come to learn about me, I have 3 kids. It seems impossible but they are all 3 now in school, albeit just starting Pre-k for the youngest. In good ways and bad, I'm now commonly known as each ones mom - "Are you Alex's mom?". My oldest, this is usually a mix. He is hilarious and the office people and nearby teachers know him quickly for his big eyes and drawing smile! The fabulous smile he wears often in the beginning of the year starts everyone on a good note, Thank goodness. Then my next son, everyone notices those ginormous slate blue eyes, I call him my personal puss n boots! :)  The baby just gets noticed for being so colorful- red hair and piercing sky blue eyes, not to mention her very individualized fashion at this point in her life.

We have not yet had the pleasure of collaborating with any of the local districts, but I sincerely look forward to it! I have so far come across so much cooperation in the old district and the new one! I do have to say that I do not recall this much willingness to work with the parents when I, myself, was in school. I know for a fact my parents were often frustrated with school officials and I am elated that this has changed in just the past decade! Needless to say, I don't have any particular principle to point out for this very important recognition day. In spite of that, I do want to be sure that ALL principles in my newsletter reach hear a parent and community member personally recognize and thank them for the work they do with all of our children, as much of their work is behind the scenes. Principles lead and guide the teachers and faculty.  They should be a touchstone for the school children, as I have experienced are more often, that seeking guidance in the younger years before guidance counselors and such. Principles are also an essential contact base for any parent.

I want to thank every single principle out there and recognize the work you are doing with every new class coming in all through them graduating!
