Are you looking for an adventure for your kids on the next warm spring day?

Do you have an animal obsessed kid looking to meet a new animal?

Then a trip to the Scovill Zoo is waiting for you and your family!

My twins are both into any and ALL animals they can find, as well as the loud choo choos from a train, so they were in for a fun morning trip! The sun came out and warmed up just as we arrived, setting up for a perfect day.

The zoo opens everyday at 9:30 am allowing for kids plenty of time to adventure around before lunch time. Along with an admission ticket you can purchase a train ride ticket as well as a ticket for the carousel. Outside the gates there is an expansive fenced in playground that is free and allows for kids of all ages to explore and climb around! If you're looking to plan an afternoon trip to the zoo, be sure to give your family plenty of time to look around before they close at 5pm.

Since the weather is still cool some of the animals were inside to stay warm, but there were plenty of animals for my kids to visit with! We were greeted by the fluffy white wolves before we got to the entrance, and wandered our way down past the red pandas and into the petting zoo area. This was the twins favorite area, they got to pet, feed and brush the goats! From a big daddy goat to a month old baby, there is one for every kid that visits!

Next we walked across the bridge and got to see the extra large camels, the pack of brother cheetahs sunbathing on the rocks, and then the train crossed under into the tunnel and we got to wave at all the riders! Once we made it to the monkeys we stopped and had a picnic lunch at one of the many tables around the zoo while we waited for the next train ride to start.

If you forget to purchase a train ticket at the entrance you can get one at the train station before you board! Your kids will definitely have a blast as they hop on the train and travel around the entire zoo. You will get to cross the large bridge in the back with a great view of the lake as you head to the museum before heading back to the station.

The train ride was a great way to end our visit, after we got off both the kids were so tired there was no fussing as we headed out to the parking lot!
